Pretty much the day we arrived on this island, we noticed little poles everywhere along the coast with red signs reading “Camí de Cavalls”, Catalan for Horse path. A little googling showed that there is actually a path going around the entire island’s coast. Meaning you’ll walk in woods, along cliffs, on sandy beaches, and everything in between. We were so intrigued by that, that we actually started walking some of the parts of it. It’s laid out so you can drive to any point at any time and just start walking. The little poles are only several meters apart so you will almost always see the next one and will know where to go.
The whole path is about 185km long so we are full on planning to walk the whole round path at one point but that will require a bit more planning. For now, though we just enjoyed walking parts of it.
Saturday was one of those days. We walked around the area of Cala Galdana and I will just let some pictures speak for themselves. It is absolutely amazing how with every corner you turn on this island you are basically in a whole new world.
Because we loved Cala Galdana so much, we decided to go back on Sunday and it was very much worth it. The waves were high, but the beach is shallow enough to walk in quite a ways before the waves break, so the kids had an absolute blast jumping up and down in them all the while being very save as they were still able to reach the ground. We will for sure come back to this island. We keep being more and more amazed.
