This weekend was basically a break.
We have something very cool, but very stressful, even for those of us without autism or PTSD, planned for the following week, so this weekend we just relaxed.
The US played soccer in the world cup and sadly lost, meaning both our teams – Germany as well as the US – are now out of the tournament. Oh well. Something less to keep track of and watch I guess, even though I do feel bad for the boys, they had a blast watching together.
Then on Sunday, it snowed. We wanted to escape winter, but it found us. Reminder from one of my last posts, note to self: Check altitude. Since we are still way up on the mountain it snowed like crazy. But unlike in Germany where it is gray, dark, and wet all of winter, today the sun is back, shining like crazy and giving winter a run for its money.
Either way, the kids had a blast playing in the snow and even building some tiny snowmen.
Not much more to report this week other than the baguettes, cheeses, and Éclairs are still yummy !
And a nice little break like this in a sleepy mountain village is actually pretty cool.
And yes, I do notice that it sounds insane that we are taking a “break” from the beach and the sights.
The boss, the general, and the brains of the operation. Anya is the mom of this crazy group of misfits. When not traveling the world and teaching her kids to be decent human-beings, she likes to bake, sing, be goofy. Aside from all that she does for Five of a Kind, she is also a short term foster mother for infants in need.
She also enjoys unreasonably spicy foods and is searching for a hot sauce that is spicy enough and yet still has some kind of flavor to it.
