So this week we had a first. Monday everyone was ready for school, sitting at the table turning the computers on, and starting. So far, so good. About an hour into it, one of the kids started saying their link didn’t work, shortly after the second one chimed in they had the same problem but with a different link. As they were saying that I noticed that I couldn’t get the internet on my laptop to work anymore either. I was just about to tell Chris about this as he came down the stairs saying he just got disconnected from his work call. We figured out quickly enough that it wasn’t just us affected by this. Chris called our internet provider and found out that something had gone wrong and our entire neighborhood was out of internet for the whole day.
So, with no other choice, we homeschooled like it was 1999 🙂 Reading, drawing, and getting other things done that didn’t need today’s technology. Thankfully after a while, Chris got Starlink set up – that we already had as we will need it for traveling – and BOOM, just like that we were back in 2022 🙂
Also on the news today: Middle kid got her ears pierced. She wanted this for the longest time – years! – but always backed out because of fear of it hurting. She finally saw it through yesterday, couldn’t be happier, and had to admit with a grin on her face that – almost as if her mother had told her – it didn’t hurt that bad after all 😉
The boss, the general, and the brains of the operation. Anya is the mom of this crazy group of misfits. When not traveling the world and teaching her kids to be decent human-beings, she likes to bake, sing, be goofy. Aside from all that she does for Five of a Kind, she is also a short term foster mother for infants in need.
She also enjoys unreasonably spicy foods and is searching for a hot sauce that is spicy enough and yet still has some kind of flavor to it.
